Win a chance to study in Germany with DAAD’s German Essay Competition

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) organises an Essay Competition in India (Literaturwettbewerb) every year for students of Bachelors and Masters programmes studying German as main or subsidiary subject. The winners can look forward to a partially sponsored trip to Germany for a Summer Course in German.
 
In this competition students have to write an essay, a story, a poem in German on a theme Specified by DAAD. This year the theme for the 15th Essay Competition is "Die Farbe Grün" - The Colour Green. In order to qualify for this competition, the applicant should be a student of a masters or bachelor degree course in any discipline at any recognised university in the academic year 2008-09 and learning German as main (BA/MA in German) in the academic year 2008-09. The applicant should be below 31 years of age.

In order to participate in the competition students need to send an essay competition packet to the office of DAAD (link)  in New Delhi by 1st September 2008. The packet should include the student’s own text i.e. a poem, a story or an essay in German on the subject, a bonafide certificate from the university stating that the applicant is a registered bachelors or masters student in the academic year 2008-09, a bonafide certificate from the university stating that the applicant is a registered student of German language in the academic year of 2008-09 and the most recent brief biodata with contact details.

Students who have been selected for the scholarships earlier cannot participate in the current competition.
