Cultural life in modern Germany bridges the inherited with the emergent. While the Germany boasts a strong heritage of arts, literature, music and architecture, it also integrates a pluralistic, multicultural society where nearly a tenth of the population is of foreign descent. The cultural scene in Germany is interestingly rich, diverse and alive – ranging from its world-renowned theaters, museums, orchestras and opera houses to traveling art shows, avant-garde performances, experimental themes and post-modernist identity.

Though Germany still holds the world record for 5,000 varieties of beer, the German Riesling Wine is fast climbing the gourmet charts. And the country has outstripped Italy to 2nd position for the number of Michelin 3-star fine-dining restaurants. Modern German design movements such as the Bauhaus have shaped design philosophy around the world. And contemporary designs from Germany continue to thrive in the newly defined aesthetics of the digital age.
