Germany called on Sunday, 4th January for efforts towards a ceasefire in Gaza to intensify but said that any truce must ensure Israel's long-term security. German Beech forests to be declared part of World Natural Heritage
Germany lies in the centre of the eco-system called the ‘European Beech Forest’. Reason enough to do something for the preservation of this unique biosphere. Yet although roughly a fourth of all copper beeches between the Alps, North Sea and Baltic Sea are still thriving, very few of these forests still radiate their primeval splendour.
